Colby won both games against the Minnesota Morris Cougars to start their spring training trip in Florida. They had a close first game, coming out on top with a 1-0 score and won the second game 7-2.Game 1:

  • Starting pitcher Abby Orso threw seven scoreless innings with 14 strikeouts. 
  • Colby had five hits and two stolen bases
  • The Mules had a tight defense, giving up no runs

Game 2:

  • Starting pitcher Sam Ahlholm threw all seven innings, with six scoreless innings
  • Four separate Mules registered at least one RBI
  • First-year Emma Burnham hit her first collegiate home run
  • The Mules were able to work out of situations with runners in scoring positions leaving 10 on base for the Cougars
  • Colby stole two bases
  • Jackie Hill hit a triple in the 6th, getting three RBI
  • The Mules were able to score five of their seven runs with two outs
