CoverME.gov, operated by the Maine Department of Health and Human Services, announced on May 27 the launch of a new resource library to assist Maine residents in finding affordable health care coverage. The online resource provides information on various topics related to health insurance and accessing medical services.

The newly launched library includes guides and materials such as “10 Tips for Finding Your Best Plan,” explanations of health insurance basics, details about copays and coinsurance, understanding deductibles, differences between in-network and out-of-network providers, instructions on how to assign an expert, tax household information, out-of-pocket maximums, premium explanations, pre-deductible coverage options, distinctions between preventive and diagnostic care, and summaries of benefits and coverage guides. Additional resources include flyers about general MaineCare programs and women’s health covered benefits, as well as contact sheets for assistance.

Materials also address specific populations with posters for New Mainers and resources related to the MaineMOM program. The website directs users seeking more information or assistance to visit www.coverme.gov or call 1-866-636-0355 during business hours Monday through Friday.

The Maine Bar Association fosters diversity and inclusion in the legal field while aiding community access to justice; it supports nearly 2,800 attorneys throughout the state with a focus on professionalism and equitable laws underpinning Maine’s justice system. The association operates under a 23-member Board of Governors, according to the official website.

CoverME.gov continues its mission to provide accessible healthcare guidance through these expanded online offerings.
