U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced that it arrested 206 immigrants with criminal records across Maine during a targeted operation from January 20 to 24, including Juliet Horton of Uzbekistan, who faced multiple convictions for fraud and DUI offenses.

According to Yahoo News, ICE conducted a targeted enforcement operation in Maine, resulting in the arrest of 206 illegal alien offenders with serious criminal histories. Among those arrested was Juliet Horton, from Uzbekistan, convicted once of mail fraud, twice for operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, and three times for probation violations. The operation encountered interference from activist groups, radical politicians, and protestors. Alerts about unmarked ICE vehicles were reported alongside assaults on officers that rose over 1,300%, with threats increasing over 8,000%.

ICE said that it arrested more than 200 people during Operation Catch of the Day in Maine. Agents targeted approximately 1,400 criminals wanted for offenses including child rape, drug trafficking, sexual assault, and driving under the influence. This operation aimed to remove dangerous individuals from communities despite interference from local policies.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security reported that more than 670,000 illegal aliens were removed in the first year, including murderers, pedophiles, rapists, gang members, and terrorists. Additionally, another two million self-deported. Seventy percent of ICE arrests involve criminal illegal aliens convicted or charged with crimes in the U.S., supporting public safety across the nation.

ICE was established in 2003 by merging investigative and interior enforcement elements of the U.S. Customs Service and Immigration and Naturalization Service. It operates with over 20,000 personnel across more than 400 offices worldwide under an $8 billion budget. ICE’s mission focuses on enforcing immigration and customs laws. Key responsibilities include Homeland Security Investigations for probing transnational crimes; Enforcement and Removal Operations for immigration enforcement and deportations; Office of the Principal Legal Advisor for legal services; and Management and Administration for support functions.
