The following day, July 31, Golden addressed challenges in national infrastructure development and introduced legislation he is co-sponsoring: “America must get back into the business of building, yet our current permitting process keeps many of the projects we need today out of reach. I’m proud to partner with Natural Resources @RepWesterman on the SPEED Act: reforms that protect our environment while delivering on the”.
Later on July 31, Golden described hosting congressional colleagues at a veterans facility in Maine: “It was an honor to host 2 of my colleagues at Togus VA Medical Center. @RepDWStweets is the Democratic lead on military construction, including the VA, on the Appropriations Committee. @RepMGP is a committee member too. I’m glad they got to see Togus’ good work firsthand.”
Jared Golden has represented Maine’s 2nd district in Congress since 2019 after serving in the Maine House of Representatives from 2014 to 2018. Born in Lewiston in 1982 and currently residing there, Golden holds a BA from Bates College.
