Congressman Jared Golden, who represents Maine’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, recently posted a series of statements on his social media account addressing federal transparency, labor rights, and access to prescription information.

On September 2, 2025, Golden publicly supported calls for document disclosure by stating, “I’m in, release the files.”

A day later, on September 3, 2025, he expressed gratitude to a fellow lawmaker for supporting his legislative efforts regarding federal workers’ rights. He wrote: “Thanks @RepBresnahan (R-PA) for signing my discharge petition to force a vote on my Protect America’s Workforce Act. Trump’s executive order against federal workers this spring was the single largest act of union busting in American history. I’ll keep recruiting allies from both”.

On September 4, 2025, Golden addressed healthcare information accessibility for Maine residents: “Mainers shouldn’t have to ask Google for info about how their medicine works. That’s why I’m fighting to preserve physical, paper labels for prescription medications that make it easy for patients to get the info they need.”

Golden has served in Congress since 2019 after replacing Bruce Poliquin and previously held office in the Maine House of Representatives from 2014 to 2018. He was born in Lewiston, Maine in 1982 and is an alumnus of Bates College with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
