The University of Maine Black Bears women’s track and field team competed at the Penn Relays from April 23 to April 25.
The event saw Ruby Krasnow secure a second-place finish in the 10,000-meter race with a time of 33:45.66. Veselja Treacy finished 50th overall in the 5,000-meter race, clocking in at 16:50.71.
In Friday’s relay events, Bayleigh Shanahan, Maddie Chaput, Maddie Cyr and Catherine Primavera took part in the preliminary round of the 4×100 meter relay and finished in thirteenth place with a time of 49.09 seconds. The same day, Shanahan joined Cassidy Novicka, Cyr and Primavera for the preliminary round of the 4×400 meter relay; they also placed thirteenth overall with a time of 4:10.32.
The team is scheduled to compete next at the America East Outdoor Championships on May 9 and May 10.
