Michelle recently took the Strategic Management for Social Change course at Unity College with Professor Stephen Paulone.

Before Unity College, I got my bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science from UNH. I still live in the coastal NH area, and while working in healthcare can be very rewarding, I started feeling less passionate about it and felt it was time for a change. I am getting my master’s degree in Wildlife Conservation and Management at Unity, on the professional wildlife biologist track.

Unity’s distance education program has allowed me to start a career change to something I am passionate about while still being able to work full-time. The classes here have pushed me to think more about conservation in all aspects of my life. My last class with Professor Paulone was more business focused than my previous classes, but it pushed me to look deeper at how businesses view sustainability efforts. I got to focus my course project on my current employer, which helped me look deeper into how businesses can become sustainable and still profitable.
I’m almost done with my time here at Unity and I am excited to start a new chapter in my life, hopefully working as a conservation officer. I would like to work somewhere to help conserve coastal habitats.
