Skowhegan, ME — On June 05, 2023, U.S. Senator Susan Collins delivered remarks at the groundbreaking ceremony of New Balance’s expansion of its athletic footwear manufacturing factory in Skowhegan, Maine. New Balance’s $65 million investment will add 200 jobs and double the factory’s production capabilities.

“This investment brings tremendous benefits to the State of Maine, including new job opportunities and a boost to Skowhegan’s local economy,” said Senator Susan Collins. “I commend New Balance for their commitment to U.S. manufacturing and their dedication to employing hardworking Mainers, and I am optimistic about the impact this factory expansion will have on our state.”

The expansion will construct a 120,000 sq. ft. single-story addition to the existing 5-story factory building with an additional 20,000 sq. ft. of the existing building also being renovated.  Current manufacturing operations will continue during the construction phase.  The expansion will be completed by the end of 2024.
