The lady Seawolves took on the Community College of Rhode Island (CCRI) in non-conference action inside The HUB on Saturday, January 28. It was a close game from beginning to end with a final score of 70-68, CCRI the victor.

At the half, Southern Maine community College (SMCC) trailed CCRI by two points. The Seawolves strung together an exciting third quarter, scoring 23 points to take the lead, but lost their momentum in the final quarter. Not willing to go down easy, the Seawolves finished with a late three-pointer made by sophomore Maddy York (Nobleboro, Maine).

York finished with 16 points and four rebounds. Junior Captain Ashleigh Mathisen (Portland, Maine) also stuffed the stat sheet with 15 points and four rebounds.

The Seawolves trip to 13-5 overall, their conference record remains 8-1.
