Owls Men’s Basketball win two in a row vs North Atlantic Conference opponent Maine Maritime Academy. Owls advance to 3-4 in the NAC while sitting 2-1 in the East Division. The Owls beat the Mariners in a second half comeback yet again, winning 74-67.

The Owls defense is what led them to the win today, as they held the Mariners to just 26 second half points, after allowing 41 in the first half. The Owls found themselves up early in the first half, leading the Mariners by ten points half way through the first. The Mariners bounced back in a big way, going on a 24-4 run in just six minutes to give them a double digit lead. Up six going into the second half, the Mariners kept their lead for the first ten minutes of the second half. It wasn’t until the seventh minute mark where the Owls were able to tie the game, 53 each, and never losing that lead.

Griffin Guerrette led all scorers with 25 points despite struggling from the three, finishing 10-12 from the free throw line and adding five rebounds and three steals to his stat line. Dany Harris finished with 16 points on 7-14 shooting. While Senior captain Parker Onorato finished with 15 points including a perfect 3-3 from beyond the arc and four steals and four assists.

The Owls will look to continue their win streak vs UMFK in a home match up on Tuesday at 7:30 PM.
