University of Maine at Presque Isle Owls Fall to Beavers After Comeback Falls Short

The Owls fell to the Beavers in the second match up of the North Atlantic Conference match up. UMF holds off the Owls second half comeback after a dominate first half. The Beaver take the win 81-74 and stay undefeated in the NAC East Division.

The Owls found themselves down by nine at the half after shooting 37% from the field and only hitting 1-11 from behind the arc. All while the Beavers were able to shoot 50% from the field. The Beavers continued to boost their lead to start the second half, bringing their lead to 18 points with 8:30 left in the game. The Owls were able to bring it within five points with just a minute to go in the game. Before the Beavers were able to put it away with free throws.

The Owls were led by Dany Harris’ 24 points on 10-15 shooting as he added six rebounds and two steals to his stat line. Griffin Guerrette, Gilbert Jean Mendez and Kj Minter each recorded 12 points on the game. Minter shot an impressive 6-7 from the field while also leading the Owls on defense.
