The University of Maine Cooperative Extension announced on May 18 that it will host a workshop focused on maximizing yields from small garden plots. The event is scheduled for Wednesday, June 10, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the UMaine Gardens at Tidewater Farm in Falmouth.
The workshop aims to help participants learn practical techniques for gardening in limited spaces and making the most out of every square foot. Attendees will receive instruction on methods such as trellising, dense planting, and extending the growing season into the fall. The session includes hands-on practice setting up a trellis and offers strategies to grow more food for individuals, families, and communities.
Advance registration is required for this $15 workshop. More information and registration details are available on the Tidewater Farm Events page. For further inquiries or accommodation requests, contact Pamela Hargest by email at pamela.hargest@maine.edu or phone at 207-949-4524.
