Elise LaPlante has joined the York County Community College (YCCC) as a Student Success Coach. Prior to joining the YCCC team, Elise spent many years working in public high schools across York County as a speech-language pathologist. She has special interest in post-secondary transitions, career advising and learning differences in education.

Elise’s warm and engaging personality is a perfect fit for our students who need assistance and support as they work to complete a YCCC degree.” saif Tracey Cornell YCCC’s Academic Dean “Elise will be working with students taking advantage of our Free College scholarship, with a focus on our liberal studies majors as they determine a career path or work to transfer after graduation.”
Elise grew up in northern Maine and graduated from the University of Maine with a bachelor’s in Communication Disorders. She then continued her education at the University of New Hampshire to complete a master’s degree in Communication Disorders. Elise resides in southern Maine with her husband and 2 children that keep her busy running from sports events to recitals. Her family likes to spend their time traveling and exploring local trails and beaches. Elise is a volunteer advisor for the Olympia Snowe Women’s Leadership Institute and serves on the Wells Public Library Board of Trustees. She is thrilled to join the team at YCCC and build connections with students to reach their goals.
