The UMPI Women's Basketball Team picked up another North Atlantic Conference win on Saturday afternoon with a 68 to 51 win over the UMF Beavers at Wieden Gymnasium on the Campus of The University of Maine at Presque Isle.

The Owls got out to an 11 to 5 lead on an Aleia Milano jumper with the assist credited to Lexi Ireland midway through the 1st Quarter. 4 minutes later UMPI would extend the lead to 21 to 11 when Milano found Emily Wheaton for a deep 3 pointer.

However, the Beavers would continue to battle and cut into several UMPI double-digit leads during the 2nd Quarter of action. A 3 pointer by UMF's Jaycie Steven's trimmed the deficit to 33 to 25 with 3:35 remaining in the half. UMPI's Chantel Williams would score on a jumper in the lane with 0:28 left to close-out the half with the Owls ahead 39 to 27.

A Alexis Ireland score inside on a pass from Wheaton early in the 3rd put the Owls up 41 to 27. Jelecia Ma'Gee-Hodges scored on a nice interior move and Milano hit a free throw to increase the Owls lead to 15. UMPI would finish the Quarter with a 51 to 37 advantage. In the 4th Quarter the Owls would extend their lead only to have a stubborn Beavers team cut the lead back to 12 points on several occasions to stay in the game. UMPI kept their double-digit margin the remainder of the way.

Emily Wheaton paced the Owls (11-6) offensively with 18 points and 8 assists while Aleia Milano finished with 12 points, 5 assists and 2 steals. Alexis Ireland scored 10 and pulled down 10 rebounds while Jelecia Ma'Gee-Hodges scored 10 points and Kourtney West had a game high 11 rebounds. Jaycie Stevens, Grace Dywer and Jalyn Stacey each scored 8 points for UM Fand Jacqui Hamilton had 7 points and 9 rebounds.
