Seven Saint Joseph's College swimmers have combined to claim 14 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) All-Conference accolades for their performances in the 2023 GNAC Championships last month.

Led by Head Coach Jared Felker, the men's and women's programs have both earned 2023 GNAC Sportsmanship Team awards, as voted on by conference coaches with consideration given to a team's sportsmanlike behavior displayed at the GNAC Championships.

All-Conference honorees are chosen based on the GNAC Championship  results, as the top three finishers in each event – including relays – garner All-GNAC accolades.

WOMEN:

  • Sophomore Kiley Matthews (South Portland, Maine) earned three All-GNAC honors after placing  second in the 200-Free (2:02.27), and posting third-place efforts in the 50-Free (25.40) and 100-Free (54.87)
  • Sophomore Tiffany Twombly (Sanford, Maine) claimed a trio of All-GNAC awards after winning the 50-Breast (32.95) and finishing second in the 100-Breast (1:11.81) and 200-Breast (2:43.21) events
  • Junior Brooke Podsiadlo (Granby, Mass.) also garnered three All-Conference accolades after posting a second place effort in the 1650-Free (19:37.76) and third place performances in the 1000-Free (11:47.97) and 500-Free (5:43.01)

  • The Monks' 200-Medley Relay team – comprised of senior Anna Walker (Scarborough, Maine), Twombly, Podsiadlo, and Matthews earned All-Conference acclaim after posting a second place finish (1:57.72)
  • The SJC 800-Free Relay quartet - Soucy, Twombly, Podsiadlo, and Matthews – also earned All-GNAC accolades after finishing third (9:02.41)

Saint Joseph's capped the 2023 GNAC Championships with both programs in fifth place, as the SJC women accrued 449 points and the Monks' men tallied 41 points. The three-day event was held at the Boston Sports Institute – home of the 2012 Olympic Trials - on the campus of Wellesley College.
