The Maine Department of Transportation has announced a closure affecting southbound traffic on I-95 near Mile Marker 152 in Pittsfield. This closure is scheduled for Wednesday, with work occurring from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The closure aims to allow the removal of a tractor-trailer that overturned on the evening of March 31st.
Southbound motorists are advised to take a detour via Exit 157 in Newport, then proceed along Route 100 and Somerset Avenue to Exit 150 in Pittsfield, where they can rejoin I-95. Signage will guide drivers along the detour, and digital message boards will provide updates.
"We apologize for the inconvenience and ask that motorists drive safely through detours and work zones," the department stated.
