Piscataquis County Sheriff's Office Reminder About Inspection Stickers

4235e

Our fellow law enforcement friends at Topsham PD posted this friendly reminder about inspection stickers. Please take a minute to check yours.

Just a quick public service announcement for some (many) of our licensed drivers out there:  The next time you go out to your car please take a moment to look at your windshield because we are starting to think a-lot of you don't.  You should see a State of Maine inspection sticker.  Hopefully it is not yellow like this one!  If it is then your car inspection ran out at some point in 2021.  For those who are unsure, the reason the State requires annual vehicle inspections is to keep unsafe motor vehicles off the public roadways.  The current fine for an uninspected motor vehicle is $148.00, NO the money from the fine doesn't go to the Town, it goes to the State,  NO we don't get free toasters or other appliances if we write a certain number of tickets!  We are simply trying to make the roads a little safer and save you all a few dollars in fines.  Have a great weekend everyone
