The Maine Department of Transportation has announced a lane closure on I-95 southbound in Bangor, scheduled for Monday, February 24th. The closure will occur where the highway passes over Broadway and is set to last from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. This measure is necessary for equipment setup and ensuring worker safety. During this period, southbound traffic will be limited to a single lane through the work zone, while northbound lanes will remain unaffected.

The bridge replacement project began in June 2023 and is part of a larger multi-year initiative that includes bridge replacements and intersection enhancements. Completion is expected by late 2026.

This undertaking received about $9.3 million in federal funding via a U.S. DOT INFRA Grant awarded in 2020. New England Infrastructure, Inc., based in Hudson, Massachusetts, is the contractor responsible for the project with a contract amounting to $30.6 million.
