Kevin recently took the Geographic Information Systems for a Changing World course at Unity College with Professor Jessica Morgan.
"Before I started at Unity, I was fresh out of high school looking to pursue an environmental career. I grew up in the rural town of Plainfield, NH where I was always involved in hunting, fishing, and appreciating anything outdoors. I chose to enroll at Unity because of the hands-on learning experience their field station offered with Hybrid Learning compared to other higher education facilities. While at Unity, I am pursuing a Major in Wildlife and Fisheries Management with a minor in Ecology. From my education at Unity, I work hard to gain the most out of each class. My degree has provided me the knowledge to conserve and restore natural resources for future generations to enjoy as I have throughout my life.
Taking GIS for a Changing World was my second to the last elective for my degree. I chose this class to feel comfortable with ArcGIS and its abilities related to the field I am pursuing. As my first GIS course was in person, I was hesitant about how the online version may be, Professor Jessica Morgan was very clear and helpful with all assignments and instructions. After I receive my degree, I plan to pursue a career as a wildlife or fisheries biologist in Vermont or New Hampshire. Wherever my career path takes me, I will strive to maintain fish and wildlife resources for the next generation."
