University of Maine at Augusta Moose attack overpowers Lynx

The Women's basketball team started the scoring early and finished late enroute to a dominate conference victory over the host, NHTI Lynx. The Moose took a 51-25 lead into the half and thought they came out cold in the 3rd quarter finished the game with their best performance of the night with a 34-11 4th quarter. All said 5 players were in double figures while shooting an unheard of 67.2% from the floor. 

 

The Record: 

The Moose improve to 3-3 (1-2, YSCC) on the season and the win is their first in conference

 

What Happened:

-The Moose came out firing shooting 11-14 (78.6%) from the floor and a perfect 1-1 from beyond the arc and 3-3 from the foul line. The Moose rolled to a quick 12-0 start with bukets from Mariah Dunbar, Kaeti Butterfield, and Alisyn Alley. Dunbar finished with 9 first quarter points.

-The Moose finished the 1st quarter with a 26-10 lead and went on a 12-1 run over a four minute and twenty-five second period that spanned over the end of the 1st and start of the second quarters. 

-The Moose took a 51-25 point lead into the half. The Lynx on the other hand went on a nice 6-17 run to start the second half.

-After the Lynx burst to start the second half the Moose came back to close out the game on a 38-11 run.

 

Inside the Moose:

-The Moose were led by Mariah Dunbar with 18 points on 7-11 (63.6%) shooting from the floor and a perfect 1-1 from beyond the arc and 3-3 from the foul line. 

-Kaeti Butterfield was a perfect 5-5 from the foul line

-The team shot 67.2% from the floor and 81% from the foul line

-Desirae Dumais, Mariah Dunbar, Kaeti Butterfield, Sydney Farrar and Hailey Paquet all finished in double figures
