Jelani Adorno scored a goal and added an assist to lead Trinity College past the University of New England in a non-conference women's ice hockey game on Saturday night.
After a scoreless first period which saw the Bantams outshoot the Nor'easters by a slim 11-9 margin, Adorno put the hosts on the board with an unassisted goal 5:26 into the second period.
Delanie Corcoran was able to keep Trinity off the board the rest of her time in goal, but UNE was unable to score to tie the game. Ethel Wilhelmsson added an empty net goal for the Bantams with an assist from Adorno with 54.8 seconds left in the game.
Corcoran made 39 saves in the loss for UNE. Stephanie Garvis stopped all 21 shots she faced for Trinity which held a 42-21 advantage in shots on the night.
UNE returns to the ice on the road at Suffolk in a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) matchup on Friday night at 6 p.m.
