Ellsworth City The Historic Preservation Commission is Currently Seeking Interested Parties to Serve on the Commission

The Historic Preservation Commission is currently seeking interested parties to serve on the commission. There are 5 regular seats, and 2 alternates. We currently have only 2 sworn members, and cannot conduct business without filling this commission. Our group is governed by Chapter 39 from the City Code of Ordinances. The Historic Preservation Commission is charged with making recommendations for local landmarks and districts to the Council, establishing guidelines for historic landmarks, reviewing applications for local facilities to be listed as historic, and being advisory to other officials regarding the protection of Ellsworth history in landmarks, places, and districts. If you are interested, please fill out the form and a member of the Commission will be in touch. All membership must be appointed by the Ellsworth City Council. You must be a resident or property owner in Ellsworth to be eligible.
