Jared Golden, a Congressman representing Maine's 2nd district since 2019, shared several insights and announcements via his social media platform. Born in Lewiston, Maine, Golden has been actively involved in political service after his tenure in the Maine House of Representatives from 2014 to 2018.

On March 4, 2025, Golden announced that he would be accompanied by Retired Lewiston Police Corporal Jeff Baril at President Trump's address to Congress. He stated: "I’ll be joined by Retired Lewiston Police Cpl. Jeff Baril at President Trump’s address to Congress tonight. Cpl. Baril served his country and our community through decades of public service as a US Marine and LEO. Proud to have him as my guest."

I’m committed to defending it. Today I’m helping reintroduce the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act as part of that essential mission."
