Jay and Cindy Kissell have been named winners in the Northeast Region of the George and Helen Hartzog Award for Outstanding Volunteer Service. The couple has volunteered with Acadia National Park and Schoodic Institute in partnership for the past two years.
During their time with us, they created documents, and signage which enhanced the visitor experience and business practices. In addition, they created onboarding and training materials for incoming volunteer Campus Hosts like themselves that vastly improved the new volunteer experience. They donated more than 32 hours a week aiding Schoodic Institute operations and Acadia National Park visitor experiences. We could not feel luckier to have had them for two seasons and are thrilled they have received Regional National Park Service recognition for their amazing contributions.
