Congressman Jared Golden, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Maine's 2nd district since 2019, recently shared his views on various topics through a series of tweets. Golden, who succeeded Bruce Poliquin and previously served in the Maine House of Representatives, addressed issues ranging from energy policy to post-election reflections.

On November 25, 2024, Congressman Golden expressed concerns about the impact of solar energy projects on American farmland. He stated that "Projections estimate that half of America’s most productive farmland will be lost to solar energy projects alone." He urged the Department of Energy and the United States Department of Agriculture to ensure that an all-encompassing energy strategy does not compromise national food security.

On November 26, 2024, Golden commented on the media environment following elections. He remarked that "I’ve tried to avoid all the post-election prognosticating. I’m skeptical of a media spotlight that encourages elected officials to be pundits, rather than leaders." Emphasizing leadership over publicity, he advised it is "almost always better to be a workhorse, not a show horse."

On November 28, 2024, Congressman Golden extended Thanksgiving wishes via Twitter. He wrote: "Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours! Today, let’s take the opportunity to reflect on all we have to be grateful for and cherish the company of our loved ones."
