The Maine Department of Transportation has announced the replacement of the Bridges Bridge in Wilton. This bridge, which facilitates traffic over Wilson Stream on Pond Road, was originally installed in 1928 and is now considered beyond its useful life. The new structure will measure 75 feet in length and 24 feet in width, making it four feet wider than its predecessor.

Construction is scheduled to commence on Monday, March 17th, with completion expected by November. During this period, drivers will be directed to a detour route that uses Routes 156 and 2. The project is being managed by CPM Constructors from Freeport under a contract valued at approximately $1.8 million.
