The Maine Department of Transportation has announced a lane closure on Broadway in Bangor, where it intersects with I-95. The closure will occur on March 26th, 27th, and 28th, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., for backfilling operations. During this period, Broadway traffic will be limited to one lane through the construction area. Traffic on I-95 will not be impacted.
This lane closure is part of a larger bridge replacement project that began in June 2023. The initiative includes replacing bridges and enhancing intersections and is expected to be completed by late 2026.
Funding for this project includes approximately $9.3 million from a U.S. Department of Transportation INFRA Grant awarded in 2020. New England Infrastructure, Inc., based in Hudson, Massachusetts, is the contractor handling the project under a contract valued at $30.6 million.
