The Maine Department of Transportation, in collaboration with its contracting partners, is set to continue its work on the Great Brook Bridge culvert replacement and Route 1 rehabilitation project in Camden. Construction activities initially commenced in November 2024 and are scheduled to resume in April.

Starting Monday, April 7th, traffic lights and flaggers will manage an alternating two-way traffic pattern within the construction zone. The entire project is expected to reach completion by June 2026.

The designated construction area begins 0.55 miles north of Sagamore Road and stretches northward for a total of 1.56 miles. This undertaking includes replacing the Great Brook Bridge along with reconstructing and rehabilitating Route 1. These improvements aim to enhance safety and drainage, resulting in a safer and smoother roadway experience.

Ranger Construction Corporation of Fairfield has been contracted for this project, which carries a contract value of $9.3 million.
