Congressman Jared Golden, representing Maine’s 2nd district since 2019, has recently addressed several pressing issues through social media statements. A graduate of Bates College and a resident of Lewiston, Golden continues to serve his constituents with active engagement in legislative matters.

On March 26, 2025, Golden expressed concerns regarding China's impact on U.S. shipbuilding, especially in Bath and Portsmouth. In a post on X, he stated: "When China undercuts U.S. shipbuilding, it threatens national security and hurts shipbuilders at Bath and Portsmouth." Golden emphasized his leadership alongside more than 60 lawmakers to urge the U.S. Trade Representative to counter these challenges.

Later that same day, Golden raised issues of accountability concerning a potential security breach. In his statement, he asserted: "Americans could have died. There should be accountability for Cabinet officials who leaked sensitive military strike plans." He called for Defense Sec. Hegseth to be questioned about the Signal leak before the committee, highlighting the urgency of the matter.

On March 27, 2025, Golden addressed concerns over foreign gifts in government, stating: "Foreign gifts are fertile ground for corruption and cast doubts about the integrity of decisions made by public servants." He advocated for the GARD Act to close loopholes and improve governmental accountability and transparency regarding these issues.
